Dar es Salaam

We arrived back at Dar es Salaam late monday night after a long bus ride from Iringa.  We drove through the Mukimi game park and saw lots of animals along the way.  Tuesday in Dar es Salaam we were able to make it to the carvers market, and then to the slip way shopping district.  We took a small dingy from the shores of Dar to another boat to travel out to the Bongoyo island in the Zanzibar channel north of oyster bay in Dar es Salaam for lunch and the afternoon.

Sunday in Iringa

We spent the morning at the Iringa catherdal, we sat in the front row, introduced ourself, then lead the congregation in Halle-Halle-Hallle.  After the service we had tea in the pastor's office.  We met Professor Llomo, who later shared his books with us, books he wrote while at the Luthern seminary in St. Paul.  In the afternoon we spent time at the dioceses orphanage.  Jack entertained the kids with balloons and the parachute. Tomorrow we head back to Dar es Salaam,  in preparation for our long voyage home.

BAck from Magome

We had a great time in the village, almost too much to put into words.  We went without our 7 bags but we finally got them on Sunday afternoon! !!! We arrived in the village on Saturday afternoon to a warm joyous welcome.  We were met with much singing and dancing.  We went to the 2 preaching points, the dioceses dispensary, 4 different secondary schools and saw most of our sponsored students, the Magome primary school, and the Magome dispensary.  Spent an hournand half practicing bells, they are naturals!  We gave out all the gifts given and made by all of you at Salem.
Welcome to Magome!

IKALAMA Preaching Point!

JR and Milt hung the new solar lights with the help of Lutengano and some of village men.

going to Magome

We are leaving for Magome this morning. Spent last night in Iringa,  buying more supplies for village; rice and corn flour. We also walked the open market,  picture 1 is of Milt and Louise at the market.  Had dinner at the Luthern Centre and spent sometime practicing our songs for the service! Bags are found and are being sent to Iringa!!!!

Iringa

We made it to the Luthern Centre today in Iringa.  Behind the great work of our driver, Issa, we made it to the Tan-Swiss lodge next to the Matumbi game park.  Traveling to Magome tomorrow.  No word on the bags, they are still lost in transit, spent 4 hours waiting at the airport only to come up empty handed.  When we left the airport we did not drive through all the traffic,  we took a round about way and passed this broken bridge.
