Safari pictures!

We just got back to Iringa from the Ruaha Lodge and it was amazing! We saw so many animals and the place we stayed was like paradise! The rooms made us feel as though we were at some fancy resort somewhere tropical. And we ate dinner by candle light under the stars in a dried up river bed!

Back in Iringa!

We have just returned from our stay in Magome! They welcomed us with a dance and song and we felt more then welcome! They enjoyed the many gifts sent from our church at home and give thanks to everyone! The woman loved the blankets made by woman from our Salem church. We loved playing with the children and showing them the parachute! The soccer balls were also a big hit with the kids! The internnet here is very slow and frustrating so i will try uploading pictures and also reposting again tomorrow! we are all safe and healthy and enjoyed our stay at Magome!

We made it to Iringa!

After countless hours of plane flights and bus journeys we finally made it to Iringa! Only three more hours to go before we reach Magome, which we will be heading to tomorrow morning. Everyone is healthy and doing well! We did have a little scare with Jack and Judy's pills, which we thought they forgot back at home when on the plane, but luckily they were with the luggage. On our way to Iringa we went through Mikumi park where we saw Monkeys, Zebras, Giraffes, and Elephants! We have four days at the village and then it's back to Iringa! I will be blogging again when we return to Iringa.

All packed and ready to go!

Tonight, we pack!

Soon we will be greeted by our friends in Magome!
The delegation from Salem leaves for Tanzania tomorrow! It's a long journey which begins with packing a mountain of gifts into duffle bags and suitcases that fit within the airline's weight restrictions!  It's 100 degrees here in Minnesota in the Schlukebier's back yard where the packing party is in full swing. In Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where our group first lands, today it is 86. It will be much cooler in Magome which is up in the mountains, especially at night when temperatures can drop into the 40s.

Each of of the travelers has been given a job - Jenna, the communication officer, will be blogging and posting pictures for the group as they travel. Please pray for safe travels for our adventurers!
